...is a pilgrimage without a specific destination or goal-- not a quest for answers so much as a celebration of the questions, an embrace of the ambiguous, and an openness to anything that comes your way.

Dustin and I are proud owners of a camper van
We can't drive on the right side of the road (the left side). And it's a stick but it's a total camping mobile so we are totally stoked pics soon to follow....

We've spent the last four days in Manly which is a 30 minute ferry ride North of Sydney. Another gorgeous beach, a fun but not super clean hostel right on the main drag of the town. Stayed for a few extra days just because our roomies were so fun and cool, everyone had a blast with each other.
We had a bus adventure up the coast one day and did a hike to the top of this beach head that had a light house on the top, very cool beautiful views here are practically a dime a dozen (as the pictures will show). We also went to Newport Beach just so we could compare ours vs. theirs! Its a bit of a toss up its a bit more scenic here but the town is a lot smaller.
We are back in downtown Sydney and are seriously shopping for a camper van. Its a buyers market at the moment so we have the advantageous position as far as negotiating goes. Some good prospects, we should have wheels by the end of the week.

Bondi / Sydney

whoa
So we have been hanging down at sweet little hostel at down at Bondi Beach just a block away from the sand. We have been meeting people from all over the world, France England Italy Canada Germany Sweden Holland Ireland, it's a bit crazy and a bit sad that we have been the only American backpackers that we have come across so far. Everyone else from everywhere else seems like it is a much more common thing for people ranging in ages from 19 - 30's to run off for a couple years and see the world.
So anyways Bondi is absolutely breathe taking, the beaches and sandstone cliffs are different than our costal beach towns back home they have seaside pools built into the beach areas and you can jump back and forth from beach to beach side pool.

Bondi Beach
So we slid out of Sydney yesterday morning on the train to Bondi Beach which is just a short ride away. Happened to walk by a beach front hostel and stayed the night there. During the day we layed around in the sand and did some body surfing water temp is really nice. Water is clearer and sand is finer and cleaner at home. We found a different hostel that we liked better, free surfboards, ping pong, friendlier atmosphere and still only probably 200 ft from the water. Today we are going to hike one of the cliff points at the south end of Bondi. Should be a very "mellow" day.
I'm still adjusting to not having anything specific to do when I wake up other than try to entertain myself inexpensively and eat breakfast. A lot of time to read and relax. I guess it will take a little bit to transition the this slower pace of life. Oh well I've got time...

first day out
So while Mr. Gleason was sleeping the afternoon away I went over to the Bitanicle gardens and met this very nice lady name Vicky, later to learn she was a stripper I thought that was kinda funny, that was feeding the birds and she showed me the wildest things birds flocked to me and landed all over me as you can see in this picture it was amazing. We then went and fed the Eals in this lake which was cool it was like a petting zoo for Eals becuase they ate right out of your hand. There was thousands of fruit bats in the trees just hanging around. It was an amazing site when I watched them all leave the trees in hords to go feed it wasssss crazy. We then went out on the town and had some fun!

good morning australia
Cruised the harbor area last night, very cool. So far people have been really friendly, well at least the friendly people are super friendly. We went out last night with a group of people from the internet cafe. Sweet bar in downtown Sydney. Today we are going to hit Bondi Beach, its pretty warm out I'd say 70ish with a bit of humidity.
